johnmillerbioBorn and raised in southeastern Wisconsin.

My studies at the University of Wisconsin were interrupted for 2 years by serving in the Army as a Military Police Officer.

Since graduating from the University of Wisconsin, I’ve worked for Fortune 150 companies in metals manufacturing, automotive parts manufacturing and logistics, chemicals, consumer electronics and satellite based telecommunications.

30 years in Human Resources with a strong and varied background in labor relations, contract negotiation, benefits, compensation, organization design, team building and performance management.

Advising senior managers and executives is very similar to coaching business owners – goal setting, maintaining  focus, getting the right people, keeping them highly motivated, keeping them informed and having strong relationships are critical to continuous improvement.

My grandfather, my father, my brother, an uncle, an aunt, several cousins and my sister-in-law have all been or are small business owners.  I’ve seen it, heard it and experienced it first hand.  Now I’m experiencing providing the help and outside perspective they all wished they had received.

Carole and I have been married for 33 years.  We’ve lived, worked and played in Los Angeles, Kenosha, WI, Marion, IN, Lancaster, PA, Pittsburgh, PA and now Atlanta for the past 13 years.

Although Carole has “retired” from playing competitive tennis, I still play USTA and ALTA men’s and mixed doubles.

I’ve owned and operated a  Business Coaching franchise for 5 years working with clients, and seeing their vision and goals materialize, in diverse markets such as real estate, information technology, insurance, hvac, retail, web design, promotional products, direct mail,  accounting services., health care, legal services, skilled trades,  in-home senior support and personal care and two specialties in health care.

I’ve seen corporate America from the inside and outside.  I’ve now seen and lived entrepreneurial America from the inside and outside.  Both have their challenges, their fun and their rewards. They are different in many ways and similar in many ways.  Above all, both have been a learning experience for me.

Achieving the success you want isn’t easy.  Maintaining that level of success can be even harder.  Having the assistance and unbiased, honest perspective of someone else, as a business owner, is a huge advantage in achieving those dreams and goals that drive business owners.
